With almost 17 million inhabitants in the Netherlands, you can imagine that ‘big data’ at the tax authorities is almost an understatement. All our data can be found in databases on income tax, sales tax, motor vehicle tax, and surcharges. By linking all these systems together, we want to create one data foundation. Every Tax and Customs Administration employee can retrieve the desired data at the touch of a button. Within the still new Data & Analyzes department, more than 100 specialists work in areas such as data science and data engineering, project management, production, and management. Our task is to make the enormous amount of data (data) in the Tax and Customs Administration systems more accessible and more usable. In this way, the team contributes to the strategic objectives of the tax authorities and to that of D & A in particular, in the very many aspects of sustainability and data management. We offer products and services such as dashboards and risk models that ensure that our colleagues, such as Surcharges and Taxes, can carry out their work more effectively. In this way, we work together on the new information-driven way of working with the tax authorities. The environment of Data & Analytics is dynamic, there is plenty of room for initiative and innovation.
